    Amy and Rory Pond are set to leave the TARDIS for good in Series 7, in a "heartbreaking" end to their story with the Doctor. Their final episode is due to be filmed and set in New York and will feature a final encounter with the Weeping Angels.

    I am so sad to be leaving, it’s weird to be moving on from this. We’ve been doing this for quite some time now. But that’s really cool because we’ve had a long run at it and it’s really cool because we’re the longest running companions of the new series which is really nice. But I am really sad to be moving on but it kind of feels like the right time. You want to leave on a high.
